Warm, boot-friendly Merino 250 3/4 bottoms that ditch shin bunching and keep you comfy from first chair to last lap
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
“Three-quarter length is a game changer. No more fabric stacked in your boots—just soft, toasty merino that breathes on the skintrack and stays stink-free in the car ride home.”
When temps drop and the snow stacks up, we pull on Smartwool’s Merino 250 3/4 Bottom and forget about cold shins and bunched cuffs. The midweight, 100% merino knit regulates heat as you move—warm on wind-battered lifts, breathable on sweaty bootpacks—and the cropped length lands above your cuff so socks and shells fit clean. Flatlock seams disappear under bibs, and merino’s natural odor resistance keeps the lodge lunches low-key and the road-trip bag lighter.

Really like the 3/4 length for skiing
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I'm super happy that I bought the 3/4 length. They don't go into my ski boots so the boot feels much better. Nice warmth and the waistband stays put.

Perfect length
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I was struggling to find a warm (merino) base layer for skiing. The layers I had previously worn were full length and created uncomfortable pressure points on my shins when tucked into my (already uncomfortable) ski boots. The 3/4 length was exactly what I was looking for. They hit perfectly right above my ski boot keeping me warm and comfortable throughout the day.

Perfect balance of warmth and breathable material, and no pesky overlap with the sock inside the boot.
