Lightweight and packable, the Nano Puff Insulated Vest delivers trail-to-town warmth

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"The Nano Puff Vest is one of those pieces that just never leaves my pack. It adds instant core warmth without taking up space or weight, and the synthetic insulation means it performs even in wet conditions. I use it as a midlayer on ski tours and as my only layer on breezy summit stops—plus it stashes into its own pocket for easy packing."

From early morning skintracks to breezy alpine scrambles, we keep the Nano Puff Insulated Vest close at hand for quick, efficient warmth. Built by Patagonia with a recycled ripstop shell and low-profile PrimaLoft Gold Eco insulation, this vest cuts wind, traps heat, and sheds light moisture so we can move confidently through cold and variable conditions.

We love how it layers effortlessly under a shell or over a thermal when the weather shifts. The tall collar and cinchable hem help lock in warmth, while the whole thing stows in its own internal pocket—ready to toss in a pack, clip to a harness, or stash in the car. Lightweight, sustainable, and mountain-ready, it's a cold-weather MVP.

Warm layer

I bought this for the slightly cool spring and fall days when you want a warm mid layer but don't want a full jacket. This works great, and keeps the core warm!

I love this vest, it's my second one. So light weight and yet, so warm. Fits under any jacket or sweater without being too cumbersome!

Love it

Familiarity:

I love this vest, it goes with everything and easy to pack. I wish it was a little warmer, we've had a very cold winter so far. I am 5'4" weight 125, I am a 34C, I'm a 28/6 waist, I got a medium. I can comfortably wear it over a sweatshirt or pullover sweater and still have some room. If I was just looking to wear to run over a long sleeve a small would have been fine.

Great choice

The weather in the SF Bay Area is ever changing. This vest is perfect on what are usually warm enough early Spring mornings. When the windchill effect is factored in, it’s a bit too chilly for my morning dog walks. That’s when this is my go-to vest.

Nano Puff Vest

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I was gifted a vest last year; bought one for myself this year. A wonderful vest that is perfect under just about anything. Washes well. Form fitting for me which is great for layering; that said, it depends on your body type as to fit. Keeps core at temperature.

Lightweight and beautiful but runs small

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I was fooled by all "true to size" reviews and will need to return and reorder a bigger size. I am size 6 and S is way too tight as I am planning to wear it over my sweatshirts and hoodies.

Exactly what I was looking for

Familiarity:

I love the weight and fit of this vest! I was hoping for a sightly warmer vest that I could wear on long runs on very cold NH days and I think I have found it! I have a running vest that does not offer much for temps below 30f and my other vests are all a little too much. It also fits nicely under all of my coats for those even colder days or just for ease of having it on all day when I'm in the office and then also being able to throw my coat on without having to take it off. It will be perfect for a warm layer in the fall and spring as well. I'm 5'2 and approximately 110lbs and the xxs fits perfectly. Though I love being outdoors in winter I'm often chilly so I prefer my clothes to fit close to my body to eliminate drafts ;) so for me, the fit is just what I was hoping for!

I purchased this vest for chilly morning runs. Super comfortable and lightweight but still warm.
