Go to MTB shorts
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Great breathable and stretchy material. Very comfortable on long rides and fit easily over pads. They seem somewhat durable but time will tell.

Good Shorts, Not Great
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Good quality materials and workmanship. I am sure these will last a long while and will enjoy many rides in them. The drawback is no adjustments in the waist so they tend to sag after a while. Had they put belt loops or some sort of built in adjustment I would have given them a 5 star rating. The length is generous and covers my knees, but flexible enough not to hinder movement. They do however hinder movement ever so slight when they sag after a while of riding. Other than the minor adjustment issue they are great. I order a 34 because I like a looser fit, and am a true 33 waist. I wouldn?t say that I have large thighs, but any slimmer would be a bit too snug.

Does not fit Big Cyclist Thighs
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
Definitely does not fit the big cyclist thighs that the other review said. Definitely too skinny, and definitely limits my range of motion. Returning them as I type this. Also, the fit that patagonia gives you, youre stuck with because there are no belt loops and no adjustable waistband. Waist is perfect, thighs are too skinny.

Nice Shorts!

I really like these. They fit perfect and they're comfortable. They also held up nicely in a crash recently. I've been wearing them on and off the mountain bike.

It's the details that count
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
These are my new favorite trail/enduro shorts. While I like Patagonia stuff in general, their previous MTB shorts have been a bit more XC oriented. These tick all the boxes of things I want for aggressive riding in warm temperatures, with storage for my phone and essentials so I don't have to wear a pack. The fit is long enough to reach the tops of knees when seated, loose enough to allow free movement (and big cyclist thighs), but without a droopy crotch to snag on the saddle. The fabric is light enough to breath well here in California, but stretchy and tough enough to withstand unplanned rapid dismounts (err... crashes) or tire buzzes. Best feature is the hamstring cell phone pocket. I don't get why so few bike shorts have figured out this location, but it's the perfect spot to keep it out of the way while pedaling. The light elastic band across the back of the waist is a great balance of keeping them in place while not being too warm. The 2 lower zip pockets are surprisingly roomy but best for light items (gloves, gummies/gels, credit card). The only reason I haven't immediately bought a second pair is that I don't love the olive and "Backyard Explorer" pattern colors.
