If I ever need another, I'd start here

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Extremely waterproof beyond anything else I've ever worn. The pit to hip two-way zippers create a lot of options for wearability and temperature control.

Great for hiking.

This paired with a good base layer and a mid layer is perfect in most conditions.

great shel!

My son had the first version of this shell which he lost. I suggested many other shells to him, but he wanted the OR Foray II jacket. He loves the new one just as much.

Just what I needed

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I needed a rain jacket that protected me from both rain and wind as my 2-day fishing trip was in an open, fast boat in cool weather. Jacket held up and is ready for my next adventure. I had previous version of jacket (lost it) and I was a little concerned that this newer version may not be as robust. But, like I said, it did the job and is ready for the next one.

Nice Jacket

Familiarity:

Roomy, great side zipper vents, and of course, the best active rainwear. Passed the test of a two hour bike ride in a steady rain with flying colors.

No room for a puffy underneath

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I am 5'11," 180 lbs and ordered a size L. Nice jacket, but fits stylishly snug instead of what I expected: room for a puffy, a heavy sweater, or something else underneath. Consider ordering one size up.

Garbage

Used three times. Got wet all three times. The water soaks right through the fabric. Not even an issue of just at the cuffs. All over the place.

Weird sizing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, it's a good jacket. Sizing is odd though. I'm 6'2" 205lbs and not really all that muscular. I bought a large and the chest is tight but the sleeves are baggy with a good length. I'm curious as to what they sized this for. The selling point is the Gore Tex. I doubt I'll ever where this poncho style but put zips are a must. The hood has good adjustability with out being unnecessary baggy. So far, I've worn it in some pretty good downpours but not for an extended time and it showed no signs of leaks. Gore Tex has held up on my motorcycle gear during some good rainstorms at highway speeds so I expect this to perform similarly. All this said, I'd buy it again.

Will keep you dry in PNW weather.

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Ok finally I was able to test this jacket throughly. I live in PNW and I just did a hike of 8 miles under constant rain with some cover, but it rained constantly from the beginning to the end. We were going at a slow pace, accruing over 4.5 hours. This was also a fairly easy hike with 1000 ft elevation gain, which was perfect to objectively check how good this jacket would do. And it excelled. I managed to stay dry, not even my mid-layer got humid. So if you live in a similar type of weather, I would recommend. On the transpiration side, well, that's tricky, it's good, but not even the best of the best will avoid trapping sweat IMO. However, yes, the bigger arm pit holes do the trick of refreshing you and keeping you mostly dry. It runs true to size, I got an L hoping to properly fit my arms (have long arms) and it does run a bit large on me, for my other jackets I'm M, and I think M would suffice with this one, but didn't want to risk it.

Awesome light rain shell that is waterproof.

Due to work I usually have to wear this under our non-functional rain jacket, but that's why it's nice that it's so light and has zips to prevent overheating. Very waterproof even in a lightweight package. Not a big fan of the smaller sizing (like a lot of current outdoor clothes that go with 'slim fit'. But I went with a Large instead of a my typical Medium (too tight in the shoulders otherwise) which just means that it's great for colder wet weather and I can throw a warm puffy jacket under it.
