Warm, windproof, Love!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I have been on the hunt for a hooded puffy for some time. My current jacket is a 800 fill marmot puffy that I've been using for years and love. The only issue was that it lacked a hood. I do lots of skiing, snowshoeing, and general time outside in the winter so I needed a jacket that would keep me warm in freezing temps. I tried out a couple others and was unimpressed with the warmth on them and ended up returning. This jacket fits all my requirements. It easily keeps me warm as my only layer-- no need to pile on other items under the jacket. It is also very wind resistant (just spent the weekend snowshoeing in 30+ mph winds and I didn't have any issues with the wind sneaking in or pulling the heat off me. The lined pockets and thumbies are a great additional feature. Really looking forward to continuing to stay warm all winter long with this jacket. I ended up getting one for my boyfriend as well and he had the same great review I did. It's slightly less packable than my other puffy (I think this is due to the windproof outer layer) but I don't really mind due to the warmth and quality overall. No need to size up on this one either, I found my normal size fit great, and had room for a sweater underneath if I wanted without feeling restrictive.

Solid choice

I love the fit on this one. It’s not too tight which lets you layer underneath it. On its own, it isn’t the warmest.

Good fit, very warm
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
I bought this jacket for my wife, who is tall (5'11"). She was concerned about sleeve length, but the sleeves on size L are long enough to leave no gap between the sleeve end and the top of a glove. The fit on the torso can accommodate layers underneath without being too snug. The jacket is also very warm and comfortable for lower-temperature days. She's very happy with the jacket and has received compliments while wearing it.

Great warm coat

I purchased this jacket for a trip and was lucky enough to get it on sale. It was 7 degrees and I had a sweater and base under it and was totally warm. I’m a 16 tops and 14w in jeans but purchased an XXL for extra room for hips and it fit perfectly with plenty of room. I love the waist cord to tighten and give it contour so you don’t look like the Michelin man.

Great Versatile Jacket
- Familiarity:

I needed a warm down jacket for romping around town but to also use for short non-technical adventures on a whim. This jacket delivers exactly that. It’s as cute as a puffy down jacket can be, has an interesting color scheme to stand out, but it also functions well on quick hikes and ski tours.

Almost perfect

Really pleased with the warmth without the weight. Soft and quiet with movement, covers longer in back and hips. The only wish is that it have a double zip so you could zip up from bottom, but other than that it's a great jacket.

Way too big!

I wanted to love and keep this item. Unfortunately, the size was way too big. I am 5'3" and 145 lbs. I am usually a M/L to a L, so I assumed based on all of the reviews, that a M would be the right fit. The M fits like a L or even XL. I was swimming in it. I would still live to exchange for a smaller size, however the sale is over, so I would be paying double.

Weird fit, fiddly drawstrings, bad cuffs

I wanted to love this. I do love the 'watercolor nimbus' color, which I went for only because it was cheapest (not normally a pink person) but is actually really pleasant. The jacket seems warm. But the fit is really perplexing. I think it would fit somebody petite much better. I'm about 5'7" & a size 4, with fairly (but not especially) broad shoulders and a small bust, and I bought a size small, my usual. The sleeves are quite wide and there is more than enough room around the middle — I had to cinch down the waist to avoid drafts — but the jacket's waist hit me quite high on my own, and its back and shoulders are cut weirdly narrow. Reaching around with my arms led to a lot of pulling across the back that made me worry about stressing the fabric too much, and the jacket felt constricting to my range of motion. As a result, it just looked super unflattering and dumpy, between the puffy sleeves, the shrunken-looking shoulders (the sleeve seams hit too high on them) and the too-high waist cinch (think peplum). I think if I had sized up to a medium, it would have been too big around everywhere else. This just seems cut for somebody more petite. Aside from the fit, the jacket seemed very warm, and the hood is tremendous — it's very thick and generously sized with good coverage and a nice long neck (sometimes jacket hoods skimp on that, like you have no neck!), and the cinch on it is easy to use (and cinches just below where my ponytail is). I can't say the same for the waist cinch drawstrings. They would be much better if you could access them from inside the pockets, as you can on many jackets, rather than from inside the jacket itself. If you're getting a draft from the bottom and need to tighten up the waist to seal it off, you first have to unzip the jacket to access those drawstrings, and once you do they're small and fiddly — I can't imagine managing them wearing mittens. I'm also not into the thumbhole cuffs. They're a thin, slick, stretchy fabric — not cozy. I don't really see the point, other than keeping snow out of your sleeves. But decent gloves' cuffs would do a fine job of that.
