Why We Like The Quickdraw Carbon Probe 240

We certainly like that this Quickdraw Probe doesn't weigh us down when it's packed away, but even more importantly, it's quick-and-efficient to use for training, snow study, and emergency situations. The pull-tab wraps around the probe to pack small, and it deploys quickly with an easy pull.

Same Weight as Aluminum

This probe seems fine but is the same weight as my aluminum Mammut. Was hoping to save weight on this piece in my Spring kit where the probe is used only occaisionally for a quick snowpack check or, hopefully never, in the low probability but worst case scenario. For Winter kit aluminum is going to be more durable overall with all the daily driver use it gets and especially when using various cord iterations for digging pits. Stiffness isn't an issue at 240cm. Hard to see the point in using carbon if it's not saving weight.

Super lightweight

A little longer than the previous version, just barely fits in my first generation jet force bag.

Featherweight Gear

When carrying gear that (you hope) you’ll never use, but have to carry nonetheless, it’s gotta be light, and this probe you barely notice in your pack.

Great Probe

Solid probe, lightweight, easy to use, packs small. Used it recently while going over a practice avy recovery, works great.

Great, light probe

I'm really happy with my new quickdraw carbon probe. Light weight and the locking mechanism works great.
