Here's what customers have to say
The sun protection layer is lightweight, breathable, and comfortable to wear. It effectively blocks the sun's rays without causing overheating, making it suitable for various outdoor activities. The well-designed hood provides good coverage, and the fabric dries quickly and is odor-resistant. However, some users experienced issues with the fit, finding the hoodie too loose or the sleeves not long enough. Additionally, a few noted the seams were scratchy and uncomfortable. Overall, it appears to be a solid sun protection option, though the fit and comfort may vary.

Great sun protection
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I bought this for my father who has to keep his arms covered while out in the sun. Normally he has to wear sun sleeves but this shirt is a way better alternative. It is light and comfortable.

Great for summer

Bought this for my husband who works in construction and is outside most of the summer. His skin is protected on his arms and the back of his neck without him getting too hot. Comfort and protection all in one great shirt. The hood fits great under a hard hat as well.

Great everyday summer shirt!

Have worn this to the lake, golfing, hiking, to the wine bar, grocery shopping, and taking out the trash. It’s super lightweight, keeps me cool, and doesn’t look ridiculous to wear out for regular activities like other sun shirts I own. I ordered one in white and another in the gold-ish color.

Cool and Comfortable.
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I bought the Tahoe 2 sun hoodie in spring of 2025 and have used it for biking around Lake Tahoe and Yosemite on hot, sunny days. The fit is good and the fabric is great for hot, dry weather. I haven't tested it in humid conditions, but my guess is that it will be good.

Finally someone sizing hiking clothes for adults with a chest and shoulders. Nice sleeve length and the fabric excellent but that hood !!! Way too big unless you're wearing a hat. But if you're wearing a hat you don't' need a hood. Cut it to fit the human head and it's a five star piece of clothing.

Tahoe Sun hoodie my new favorite
- Familiarity:

Fit (medium) is just right for a 5’11” 170 lb guy. Relaxed fit but not baggy, sleeves plenty long (includes thumb holes) that can be pushed up. Somehow both cool in warm weather and warm in 50’s Colorado air. Nice array of colors so I bought 3. Highly recommended!

Saved me in the Grand Canyon

Sun protection is tough. You want something that'll keep you from frying, but you don't want to cover up so you can get that sweet, sweet breeze. When temps reached over 100 at the bottom Grand Canyon, I didn't have a choice but to cover up since sunscreen was sweating right off my skin. Luckily, the breeze still worked its way through the airy fabric, making it breathable and cooling. Much to my wife's chagrin, I didn't take this off for the entirety of the Rim-to-Rim trail. Not a single sunburn.

Favorite Sun Hoodie
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I've used a lot of sun hoodies for various activities such as climbing, biking, and even surfing. The Tahoe Sun Hoodie has quickly become my favorite in the lineup. I'm 6'3 195 and the size medium is a good slim fit if you're looking for an active fit, but the L or XL is perfect for a looser more regular looking fit. I have several of these Tahoe Sun Hoodies and they will not disappoint. Extremely soft feel on the skin but still has a sense of durability you need when getting active. I can't recommend these enough!

Does anyone know the weight of the medium hoodie? The original design was about 9oz, and it felt heavy when wearing. Im hoping its similar in weight to the OR hoodie, or MH at 1/2 the weight. I noticed a lot of gear in general now on backcountry is missing the weight.
