Trail-ready shorts built to go the distance

"The belt sits in the perfect place and doesn't get in the way of my harness or backpack. When I want to wear it higher, I can cinch it in for a tighter fit."Gearhead® Expert Jo

We designed the Wasatch Ripstop Short for venturing along lightly trafficked singletrack that leads to hard-earned views. The built-in stretch gives us room to straddle over fallen trees, and the lightweight fabric brushes off overreaching brush and quickly dries away summit drizzles.

WOW

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I am a professional field biologist, and I do the same things for fun that I do for work. At 40 years old, I have been wearing field clothes hard for over 20 years. Have worked in shorts from Columbia, Patagonia, etc. all the brands at this point. Most get the job done, but are never flattering. THESE shorts are functional and flattering. Love that they are longer in the back for some cellulite coverage. Finally! I feel pretty in my field clothes.

Very Flattering

My new favorite short for the season. The fit is very flattering and hides my lower bloat. The pockets are super deep & it has good coverage in the back as well, I ordered a small.

I love the fit of these shorts. They are true to size, and the integrated belt is sweet for minor adjustments. Quick to dry, durable material and zippered pockets!

First impression - bigger than I thought

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I haven't put these shorts to use yet, but for folks looking for size info, this is a little big for me: measuring right now, my waist is 24.5" and full hip 35", and the xs is roomy in both waist and hip. Luckily, the waist is adjustable without a belt! Without adjustment, these sit on my hip bones, but the fit doesn't look super scrunchy-weird when I tighten up. I was concerned the hips would be tight, but no worries there. I ordered a small as well, and it's definitely too big. I'm 5'2" and these 3.5" inseam shorts are pretty modest. The starfish color is possibly the only shade of yellow I would like on my pale pink skin tone. I also liked the deco rose color and wish that was available in xs! The material feels nice against my skin for the quick-dry ripstop fabric it is, it is not stretchy, and construction seems durable. The plastic clasp on the internal belt is a potential point of failure that would require some finagling to replace since it's an odd closure and the shorts have no belt loops. Overall I think they're cuter on the model than on me, but I really like them already and can't wait to get them dirty!

The best shorts ever

Familiarity:

Can’t recommend these enough! I’m 5’9”, 165 lbs, and the medium fits great! Super comfy and stretchy. Considering buying more than one pair simply because I haven’t found a pair of shorts this great in a long time. The fit is flawless!

Love love love

I absolutely love the feel and look about these pants. every time I wear them I get compliments and asked where they are from. I love how they dry so quick too and seem to be good quality. I wish there were more colors to choose from since I got the only 2 that I really liked. I also got a pair of the 5 inch shorts and those are also amazing. Not too short. They do run a little big so size down.

Go to summer shorts

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

These are my favorite shorts to date. I wear them everywhere; hiking, beach, out around town. You can dress them up or down. It's especially hard to find a nice fitting pair of shorts for a curvy gal like myself. I hope they make them in more colors!

Restock please!

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Best shorts on the planet! They’re great for running around outdoors but cute enough to head into town. They fit perfect. The pockets are useful with the zipper closures. The belt is incredibly comfortable. Dry super fast. And very flattering on. Excellent coverage in all the right areas. Not tight! But not too loose. Please please restock on smaller sizes!!!

These shorts are amazing! I was able to snag the light green color, before they went out of stock, and its so nice to have some bright colored activity shorts! They are lightweight, easy to move in, and with the elastic belt built in, very adjustable
